Match between Lumumba and MIR F/C ends abruptly

Ekumfi Eyisam (C/R) Dec. 15, GNA - The 12th week Central Region Division Two League match between Eyisam Lumumba Football Club and Mankessim Mir F/C played at Eyisam on Tuesday ended abruptly in the 68th minute when irate fans invaded the field.

The incident started when the home team scored a goal and just as the referee, Kwame Ghartey whistled for a goal the home fan in their jubilation invaded the field.

In the process, referee Ghartey was slapped in the melee and knocked down and he subsequently collapsed. Although the referee was later revived he refused to continue with officiating of the match with the excuse that that his life was in danger.

Other results were Winneba Soccer Intellectuals drew 0 - 0 with Pomadze Kampsite, Elmina Coconut Sharks beat Praso Noble Kings 2 - 0 while Praso Akumpreko spanked Abaka Vision Stars 3 - 0.
