Massawudu Alhassan to join Black Stars in London

Italy-based teenager Massawudu Alhassan will join Ghana’s squad in London for the international friendly against Nigeria on 11 October, MTNFootball can confirm.

The Genoa left-back was named in Goran Stevanovic’s final squad was unable to join the team’s camping base in Nairobi, Kenya due to visa difficulties.

The 18-year-old received his visa for the UK and will have to wait for the team in London.

He was a member of Ghana’s Under-23 team who beat Nigeria 2-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in July this year to qualify for the All Africa Games finals.

Alhassan moved to Italy from lower division side Prampram Mighty Royals where he signed for then Serie B side Rimini.

He left after one season to join Genoa, where he is a senior team player but yet to make his Serie A debut.
