Marseille to appeal Dede’s red card

Marseille will lodge an official appeal against Andre Ayew’s red card during their 1-0 win over Lorient.

The 23-year-old was shown a straight red in a game that ended in a massive brawl.

The Ghanaian international alongside Lorient goalkeeper Fabien Audard were sent off as tempers flared among both sets of players.

Marseille have decided to contest the decision as Ayew was only trying to separate the fight and calm tempers at the Stade Yves Allainmat-Le Moustoir.

The French outfit are hoping their players do not suffer severe sanctions as the season gradually reaches home stretch.

Mathieu Valbuena scored the only goal as Olympique Marseille consolidated second place in the French top-flight.
