Manu bemoans defeat from Executive Committee

Accra, July 20, GNA - Kofi Manu, Chief Executive of Aduana Stars is still reeling over his defeat at the elections to the Executive Committee o= f the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday.

The outspoken Manu polled a paltry four votes, the least in the keen contest held on Wednesday, and is yet to get to terms with the cause of his rejection by representatives of the Premier League Clubs. Five years ago, the outspoken football administrator stepped down for Jones Abu Alhassan of Real Tamale United in the same contest, but he tells formula, 93expecting the electorate to consider his contribution" to development of football in their decision making.

"I did not campaign. I expected the electorates to look at my contributions in the past.

"My reason was that people should rely on their conscience." Manu alleged that the outcome of the polls compels him to believe that there is little or no room for 93straight forward" persons in the mainst= ream administration of Ghana football.

"It tells me that obviously straight forward persons or people who d= o not compromise are not wanted in the Executive Committee. "May be, they feel I will be better remaining outside the Executive Committee."

He however dismissed allegations of vote buying by some contestants, whilst pledging his unflinching support to the development of Ghana football.

"I am still committed to the development of the game and will give the GFA Executive Committee my total support when called upon."

The Aduana Stars Chief Executive has not ruled out the possibility of a comeback in the next election in four years. "That will depend on my continued stay on this planet. I don't hav= e control over my life and can only decide when the time comes."
