Manhyia Palace denies board appointment

Manhyia Palace has debunked reports that Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has appointed a five-member board of directors.

The supposed board of directors comprised businessman Kennedy Agyapong popularly known as Kenpong, Dr Yaw Amoh Asare, a lecturer at the chemistry department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Lawyer Paul Adu Gyamfi, Alhaji Abu Lamine and Nana Boakye owner of Nana Boakye Herbal clinic.

But Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace Kofi Badu has told Joy sports no such appointments have been made by the club's owner and life patron.

"Is the Palace which is making the appointment and I can say on authority that no appointment has been made, we are now in the process of consultations," Badu told Joy FM.

"It is embarrassing because we are at the final stages of consultations with people and this announcement by the media has embarrassed everybody.

"People are lobbying for the position, but none of them has been told anything.

"The King himself knows those that he wants to work with and so that is what we are working on and not those going around lobbying for the position," he said.
