Management of Kotoko up date supporters on activities of the club

Kumasi, April 19, GNA - The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Friday launched an SMS subscription-based service to help update supporters on activities and developments in the club.

Launching the project at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi, Mr Slyvester Asare-Owusu, the Chief Executive of the club, said the Kotoko Sports Service would be available on all networks operating in the country.

He indicated that under the project, subscribers were mandated to text short code 1935 to get all the necessary information about the club, stressing that the information to be provided included line up of the team before matches, team gossip, breaking news and other relevant information.

Mr Asare-Owusu was hopeful that the project would bring a sense of belongingness to supporters since most of the information to be provided were up to date.

He said an amount of one Ghana cedis would be deducted from subscribers' accounts and that subscribers would have the opportunity to download cheering songs of Kotoko.

He said the move formed part of efforts by management to diversify the club's sources of revenue and therefore implored well-meaning supporters to patronize the service to benefit the club.
