Mahatma sets 20-goal target

Hearts of Oak captain Mahatma Otoo is hoping to score five more goals before the Ghana Premier League season ends to increase his tally to 20.

The in-form striker told Goal Ghana that with five games to end the 2012-13 season he is poised to score at least a goal in each game to reach his target.

“My target is to help my team improve our position on the league table, and I’m hoping to score 20 goals with five games to end the season,” Otoo outlined.

He reached his season’s personal best of 15 goals after he scored twice in Hearts of Oak’s 4-0 thumping of relegated Real Tamale United on Wednesday in Tamale. Otoo, who is a joint top-scorer with Ashgold’s Yakubu Mohammed, noted his ultimate goal is to help the Phobians finish at a respectable position on the standings.

“As a striker I feel good knowing that I have scored more goals than last year, meaning I have improved upon my goal scoring,” Otoo stated.

He added: “I will thank God for it because I do my best on the pitch and leave the rest to God.”
