Ghana international forward Mahatma Otoo scored his maiden goal in the pre-season for newly-promoted Norwegian top-flight side Sogndal IF when they played a 2-2 stalemate with lower-tier side Forde on Wednesday evening.

The 24-year-old explosive forward was ushered into action for the first time in pre-season by Sogndal manager Eirik Bakke and he expressed himself in the frontline with a powerful finish to cancel out Forde's opening goal.

Forde had taken an early lead just five minutes into the game but Otoo cancelled out it out with a brilliant scoring flex.

Striker Fredrik Flo Skara put Sogndal 2-1 ahead but Forde equalised again to send the game into a stalemate.

Otoo, a former Ghana Premier League golden shoe award winner with Hearts of Oak, powered 13 goals to propel Sogndal back to the Norwegian top-flight after the Sogn og Fjordane were relegated two seasons ago.

While Otoo was scoring, his Ghanaian compatriot Gilbert Koomson, signed from Thai Premier League side BEC Tero Sasana, also started the game and played full throttle in midfield.
