MTN salutes Stars

Accra, Jan 21, GNA - MTN, title sponsors of the 26th Africa Cup of Nations has congratulated the senior national team, the Black Stars for winning the opening match against Guinea 2-1 at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on Sunday.

A statement issued by Ms Mawuena Dumor, Corporate Services Executive Officer of MTN, copied to the GNA Sports, said: "The win by the Black Stars is just the beginning of exciting matches ahead and we urge the team not to be complacent."

Mr Brett Goschen, Chief Executive of MTN, said: "We are proud to be one of the official sponsors of the Ghana national football team and we share this victory of the Stars which signifies a determination to succeed and for them to GO for the grand prize". He expressed MTN's commitment to continue supporting the Stars to ensure that they pushed to their limits to achieve their goal in the historic tournament.

The statement called on all football fans and the media to visit the first ever Pan-African football website created by MTN for information, news, comments and photographs on the competition.
