Striker Kenneth Okoro scored twice to propel Ghana Premier League leaders Hearts of Oak to a commanding 3-0 win over Wassaman United in the 2016 MTN FA Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The 20-year-old's brilliant finishes were sandwiched between Kwame Kizito's magnificent header on an afternoon Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi spent time away from the technical bench.

Okoro glanced home an Owusu Bempah incisive delivery in the 37th minute before Kwame Kizito cushioned the lead for the Phobians two minutes later.

Hearts bossed the game but Wassaman occasionally came into the game and caused problems for Hearts in defence.

Assistant coach Yaw Preko who took charge of the game in Kenichi's absence introduced Musah Ibrahim as late replacement for Cosmos Dauda and the 19-year-old produced a moment of magic, outwitting two defenders before setting up Okoro to grab his second goal of the afternoon.

Former Ghana captain Joe Addo who is a cult figure at the former African champions acted as assisted coach for Preko who took firm control of the game.

Striker Foovi Aguidi (Togo) and goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama (Burkina Faso) joined their national teams for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.

But Mustapha Essuman, Richard Akrofi, Kennedy Appiah, Samuel Yeboah Eric Kumi and Robin Gnagne were all rested for the game.

Hearts remain unbeaten in all competitions this season and have now scored 12 goals and conceded three. Defender Isaac Oduro and Isaac Baadu were all handed their first starts of the season.
