MOH beats GHS in a friendly match

Accra, Jan 5, GNA - The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Friday trounced Ghana Health Service (GHS) 3-0 in a friendly football match played at the Accra Turf Club.

The match, which, is aimed to usher in the MOH and the GHS into the New Year was also to foster unity and better working relationship among staffs of the two health institutions.

Two goals in the first half by striker Bashiru Fuchu and a second half strike from Ahmed Mohammed ensured victory for MOH. The MOH team took absolute dominance of the game right from the blast of the referee's whistle but found it difficult to break down the GHS team but in the 22nd minute Fuchu broke the deadlock with a solo move.

Six minutes later Fuchu made it two by tapping home a cross sent in by Ahmed.

Ahmed later sealed victory for the MOH in the second half when he capitalized on a defensive blunder by the GHS goalie to score the third goal.

Try as they did, the GHS team could not redeem their image even though they lifted up their game pattern in the second half until proceedings was brought to an end. Emmanuel Acheampong, captain of MOH was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match.

Alhaji Mohammed Nurudeen Jawula, Chief Director of MOH, presented the ultimate trophy to the winning team. 05 Jan. 06
