MLS: Earthquakes acquire Agogo from Rapids

SAN JOSE, California -- The San Jose Earthquakes acquired high-scoring forward Junior Agogo from the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday.

Agogo, 21, led the Rapids in scoring in the 2000 season with 10 goals and seven assists in 22 games. He comes to the Earthquakes in exchange for forward Chris Carrieri.

Agogo was born in Ghana but moved to England when he was 10 years old. He has English citizenship.

Prior to joining Major League Soccer, Agogo played with Sheffield Wednesday in England, where he began his career in 1995.
