Lorient plan loan move for Boateng

Lorient have expressed interest in signing Ghana teenager Bismark Adjei Boateng on a season-long loan come January.

According to Espoirs du football, the French Ligue 1 side has already commenced talks with Manchester City to ship in the midfielder and are eager to complete the deal.

Lorient signed Mohammed Abu on loan last season and after excelling they are optimistic that Boateng, who played for Norwegian champions Stromsgodset this ended season, can make the same impact.

The 18-year-old who extended his contract with the Citizens last season featured in 17 Tippeligaen games as Stromsgodset snatched the title from Rosenborg.

Boateng is not eligible to play for his parent club Manchester City because he does not qualify for work permit and a loan move to Lorient could be the best option.
