Lions Coach Slapped

Heart of Lions coach, Archibald Lamptey was slapped twice last Sunday for losing to defending league champions Accra Hearts of Oak by 3-0.

The incident took place after proceedings when the club official described as very close to Victor Ahiakpor confronted him.

The club however says the matter is an internal matter and would be handled as such.

Coach Lamptey is being blamed by some officials for his approach and tactics but Lions boss, Victor Ahiakpor has dismissed reports that they played it rather soft for Hearts as compared to the game against Kotoko. Ahiakpor says they tried to add Hearts of Oak to the list of victims but it rather turned out to be different.

For Lions captain, Siba Ali, they were motivated to beat Hearts of Oak just like they did to Asante Kotoko but failed. He believes that the training and seriousness to the game against Kotoko was slightly ahead than that of Hearts. For Coach Lamptey, who was carried shoulder high after beating Asante Kotoko, this remains one of his bad patches with the Kpando club though he recognises the hazards of the job.

Hearts of Oak managed to tame the Lions in their own den beating them 3-0. The defending league champions got the first goal in the 51st minute through Wisdom Abbey. The goal was the striker's first for the season. Three minutes later Lawrence Adjei increased the tally for Hearts with Adjah Tetteh sealing victory in the 83rd minute.
