Let us play on neutral grounds -vipers

...for promotion to Division One, Tandoh

Cape Coast, Nov. 2, GNA - Mr Kweku Tandoh, chairman of Cape Coast Venomous Vipers Football Club has appealed to the Ghana Football Association to organise matches for future promotion of league clubs to the elite Division One on neutral grounds.

This, he said, would enable the GFA to promote the best clubs for the Premier Division.

Speaking to the GNA Sports in Cape Coast on Monday, Mr Tandoh said the present system where the league is played on home and away basis breeds corruption and rowdism on some of the home grounds.

Justifying his claim, he said only two away victories were recorded in the just ended Zone Two B Division One league of the sub-middle league.

Mr Tandoh expressed the hope that his suggestion would be taken seriously to help minimise corruption and rowdism which has become a character in such competitions.

On future replacement of Mr Ben Koufie as chairman of the GFA, Mr Tandoh appealed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports which is responsible for the nomination of candidates to be very careful in their choice saying a personality like Mr. Kofi Amoah, a business tycoon and chairman of the Ghana 2008 Nations Cup Bid Committee could be a suitable choice because of his rich experience in soccer administration.
