Le Roy Not Happy

BLACK STARS' French Trainer, Claude Le Roy, has admonished the local component of the Black Stars to go the extra mile in their quest to justify their inclusion.

Their 0-5 defeat to the national Olympic team, the Black Meteors last Wednesday in a preparatory exercise at the Carl Reindorf Park, has stirred the Coach to caution the newly-assembled side to throw in more.

He told The Chronicle Sports after the friendly that, "they need to work harder to make it to the team; that is the only thing that will justify their inclusion."

"I didn't see them display any exceptional skill. They were an average side but I hope with time the best will be seen in them," he added.

The Coach's worry was not the number of goals his side conceded but their below average sense of aggression in the game.

Coach Le Roy, who commended the team for their positive attitude towards training, however, expressed misgivings about how some of the players failed to utilise the few chances that came their way in the game.

He pointed out that, "It is a new team and each one of them wants to impress me; maybe that resulted in them being jittery in the game."

Some of the players who featured in the game were goalkeepers Fatawu Dauda and Ackon, Francis Bossman, Moses Andoh, Habib Mohammed, Alex Djanie, Osei Kwame Jnr. Kwame Obeng Darko, Jonathan Quartey, David Telfer, Hamza Abdoulai, among others.
