Laryea Kingston jeered by fans

Hearts of Oak midfielder Laryea Kingston was jeered by watching fans during the annual Homowo football match between Teshie XI and Nungua XI played over the weekend at the Teshie Salem Park.

According to our sources, Kingston, who played for Teshie XI, began the match well and was attracting applause from the fans as a result. Kingston also scored what turned out to be the game’s only goal.

Late on in the game, Kingston was the subject of a strong tackle from an opposing player and the former Black Stars winger retaliated by poking his fingers into his marker’s eyes.

This held up play for approximately 15 minutes. As a result of his actions, Kingston was jeered by the fans and he did not even wait for the presentation of the trophy by the Ledzokuku Member of Parliament, Hon. Nii Nortey Dua.

Wa All Stars defender Jacob Quao, who played for Teshie XI, was adjudged the best player for the match.
