The Public-Private Partnership initiative of the Lagos State Government received
a big boost with the partnering of Best Western Island Hotel with the Government
on the forthcoming Lagos International Youth Cup, which will take place from
Sunday August 1st to Sunday August 8th. Commending the hospitality company over
the partnership, the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development
Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele enjoined other organisations and companies to
emulate the hotel. This he said will provide the needed latitude for the
government to take care of developmental programmes in the state.

Towards this partnering, the hotel has made available all its facilities for use
during the championship that will feature four clubs from Holland, South Africa,
Ghana and Lagos State, Nigeria. Best Western Island Hotel has been officially
designated the official hotel of the tournament. And as part of the preparation
for it, the Organising Committee of the championship led by Mr. Godson Uti has
released the fixtures for the tournament. Going by the fixtures, matches will be
played on August 3rd, 5th and 7th.

Uti stated that the need to name the teams on all match tickets and lack of time
has necessitated the need to draw the teams in alphabetical order as against the
planned draw that was initially scheduled for August 1st 2010. He said further
that, the Local Organising Committee has therefore resolved to draw the team in
alphabetical order.

In that alphabetical order draw therefore, Tuesday, August 3rd will see agos
United playing Liberty FC of Ghana in the first match at 3.00pm, while
Supersport United of South Africa will play Utrecht FC of Holland at 5.45pm.

On Thursday, August 5th at 3.00pm Liberty FC will face Utrecht and at 5.45pm
Lagos United will play Supersport FC at 5.45pm. On the last day, Lagos United
will play against Utrecht in match 5 at 3.00pm, while Liberty FC will face
Supersport at 5.45pm in the final match.
