L-Sporto country representative dupes Okwawu United

Accra, July 11, GNA - Mr. Kofi Poku, the Country Representative of L-Sporto, a U.S. based sports kits manufacturing company, has duped Okwawu United Football Club, a premier league side, and 61 million cedis.

The L-Sporto representative entered into an agreement with Okwahu United to kit the club for two seasons but after taking a deposit of four thousand US dollars and 25 million cedis his company has failed to deliver any kits to the club.

Nana Asiedu Donkor, Chairman of Okwahu, who disclosed this to the GNA Sports said all efforts to track Mr Poku down, has failed adding that Mr Poku could not deliver on any of the promises he made to kit the Club in spite of agreements signed early this year.

Mr Donkor said he has tried calling Mr. Poku on his mobile telephone but it responded that it's been switched off while his office had remained closed for the past two weeks. It said the only delivery the club received from Mr Poku was fifteen pieces of T-Shirts, which the L-Sporto representative claimed was his personal donation to the club.

The Okwahu boss said the club has accordingly, abrogated the contract he signed with L-Sporto and the L-Sporto Representative has been served with a copy of the letter.

It would be recalled that L-Sporto is yet to deliver on a similar agreement it signed with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last September to kit all the national soccer teams.

The GFA is also yet to take delivery of any of the kits and Mr. Ben Koufie, GFA Chairman, told Radio Gold in an interview and monitored by the GNA Sports that his out-fit has instructed its legal department to abrogate the contract.

According to Mr Koufie, the FA was surprise that their lawyers had kept too long in writing to L-Sporto and promised to follow up for the right thing to be done.

Efforts by the GNA to meet Mr Poku for his side of the story proved unsuccessful as his phone has been put off and his office was closed.
