Dethroned Ghana premier league champions, Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of former Berekum Chelsea and national U-20 defender, Samuel Kyere.

Kyere who is a free agent after terminating his contract with Armenian top-flight side Shirak FC - signed a two year deal with the Porcupine Warriors as the Kumasi based club is currently building a formidable team ahead of the upcoming season.

Kyere, is the third player to complete a move to Asante Kotoko after Ex Berekum Chelsea and Don Bosco goalie Ernest Sowah and Michael Yeboah completed their respective moves to the club last week.

A source close to Kotoko confirmed the news to Allsports.com.gh – “Yes….. Kyere has signed a two year deal with Asante Kotoko, Coach Duncan has targeted him since last season’s league but we didn’t reach an agreement with him.

“Now the road is now clear and he has joined Kotoko. We hope his rich experience in the local league will positively help the club in our quest to reclaim the league title in the upcoming season."
