Kwarasey out of Black stars squad for friendlies

On/off Black Stars goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey is not making Ghana’s squad for the two international friendlies planned for October 9 and 13, Kasapa Sports can confirm.

Kasapa Sports can also say that Kwarasey, who would have gotten another opportunity to once again play for the national team after falling out with a section of the backroom staff after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is opting out at the request of his MLS side Portland Timbers.

Timbers has written to the Ghana Football Association to excuse the lanky goalkeeper from national duties as he would be engaged in a league match against Real Salt Lake on October 15.

The FA has received the said letter, we can confirm, and has passed on the information to the Avram Grant-led technical team, who are set to make public its squad for the two friendlies.
