Kwadjo Poku eyes goal king title

Accra, Sept 2, GNA-Kwadjo Poku, the top marksman of Kumasi based King Faisal, has expressed his optimism of winning the 2003 goal king title describing it as his target for the sea

The striker who raised his goal tally to nine by scoring two goals in their match against Okwawu United at the Accra Sports Stadium last Friday vowed to go all out in the remaining league matches for the title.

" As a step to my aspiration I have stepped up my training and I can assure all that I will score at least a goalin the remaining matches to achieve this dream".

The young star said he is not perturbed by the challenge being put up by Shaibu Yakubu adding that he is confident of beating him to win the award.

According to the player he has scores to settle with Yakubu who has once beaten him in youth tournament to win a goal king race two years ago adding that "this season is a fine opportunity to pay him back in his coin".

Poku said though he has his eyes on the title he will contribute his quota to the team to ensure that they place at a respectable position on the league table at the end of the season. He expressed the confidence that Faisal will be among the best four team at the end of the season since they have a formidable squad capable of beating any side in the league.
