Kwabena Asiedu’s last journey

THE death has been reported in Kumasi of former international player, Kwabena Asiedu, which occurred at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on November 26.

He was 33.

According to funeral arrangements, the mortal remains of the late footballer will be buried at the Royal Mausoleum in Kumasi on Thursday.

The final funeral rites will take place on Friday at House No.0.0.28, Manhyia. There will be no wake-keping.

Kwabena Asiedu, well known for his uncompromising nature in defence, began his career with now defunct State Traders of GNTC before joining Sekondi Eleven Wise where he got invitation to the senior naitonal team, the Black Stars, in the mid-80s.

He climaxed an illustrous career with Accra Great Olympics where he was retired by the management of the club which honoured him a couple of years ago for his meritorious service.
