Kumordzi's $1.5m Panathinaikos Offer Rejected

A 1.2 Million Euro offer by Greek champions Panathinaikos has been rejected by Panionios for the signature of Bennard Yao Kumordzi. Panathinaikos coach Niplos Niplais is a strong admirer of Kumordzi due to his versatile nature and strong scoring abilities. Kumordzi has played 27 of of 29 league matches this season and has scored 3 goals plus 5 assist making 2,430 minutes of play which is among the top 5 individual performers in Greece this season.

Other contenders for Kumordzi's signature are Greece richest club Olympiakos and English premier club Arsenal. The gunners believe that Kumordzi has a powerful attacking and defensive midfield talent they can explore and as Arsenal always like buying cheap, this is another opportunity for them to bring another Patrick Vieira incarnate to the Emirates. The only disadvanatge for both Arsenal and Kumordzi is the fact that there will be work permit problems in other to play in England as Kumordzi has not played up to 75% of senior national team games. But this is another big disadvantage for Ghana to see some of her best talents in the biggest european clubs. It is a big price we will pay for not making use of Kumordzi in the senior national team. The quality of Kumordzi is without any doubt as several clubs keep knocking the doors for his signature.

Olympiakos are said to make an official offer starting this week as a decision has been made by the board to go for Kumordzi. 17th April 2010 http://www.gavros.gr/Default.aspx?id=57652&nt=108&lang=1

The able supporters of Bennard Kumordzi wish him success in club football as Ghana has constantly refused to see his abilities. We are solidly behind you because we believe in your football abilities. We know that coach Milovan's plane never flies above the skies of Greece therefore it is extremely difficult for him to see you.Your time will come.
