Kumasi Prays For Essien

THE PREMPEH Assembly Hall in Kumasi was on Friday evening turned into prayer grounds as soccer fans converged on the place to pray for injured Ghana star Michael Essien.

Believers were seen busily praying for God to heal the Chelsea star who now looked doubtful for the upcoming South Africa FIFA World Cup which starts next month.

The intercessory prayer for Essien and all injured Ghana players, initiated by ace broadcast journalist Kwame Adinkra of Angel FM, started at 6:00 pm and ended at 12:00 midnight.

Some leading men of God in the persons of Rev. Dr. Adutwum Barima aka ‘Fire Fire’ and Rev. Kwame Kwarteng, led the patriotic believers in interceding for the Ghana players in the six-hour period.

Also in attendance to add glamour to the spiritual occasion were crack gospel musicians like Ernest Opoku, Mama Esther and Evangelist Diana Asamoah among others.

In a chat with DAILY GUIDE SPORTS, Kwame Adinkra said he decided to assemble believers to intercede for Essien because he is a huge asset to the senior national team, the Black Stars.

According to the top radio presenter, Ghana would make a huge impact at the Mundial if Essien, who is a world-class footballer, is available for the Black Stars.

Adinkra explained that since medications on Essien’s injured leg seemed not to be healing him fast enough “I think it is prudent that we take the matter in prayer to God who has cure for all ailments.”

He said very soon another massive intercessory prayer would be organized by him for the Black Stars, who are Africa’s sole hope in the coming World Cup, to live up to expectation at the tournament.
