Kufuor to commission Essipong stadium

Accra, Jan. 10, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor would on Sunday, January 13, commission the newly constructed Essipong Sports Stadium near Sekondi- Takoradi. The event starts at 2:00 pm.

The newly constructed stadium is one of the four venues for the 2008 MTN African Cup of Nations.

A statement issued by Hamah Hamid Issakah, Public Relations Director of the National Sports Council said the ceremony would be followed immediately by a game between Sekondi Hasaacas and Tema Real Sportive in their 10th Week Premier League encounter. Meanwhile the statement said a local derby between Sekondi Hasaacas and Eleven Wise would be played at the same venue on Friday, January 11, to test the Essipong stadium prior to the inaugural activities.
