Former Black Stars defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour, has confirmed his appointment as the new president of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, and has vowed to return the club to its glory days.

The experienced Ghanaian international who has worked mostly as a businessman and pundit since he called time on a colourful career was previously on the Kotoko board but will now be the one who calls the shots.

Kuffour says he will be the president of the club with executive powers responsible for the day to day administration of the club but is keen to point out that he will not be doing it alone.

He told Metro TV he will put in a place a team of experts from various fields and pull resources together in order to ensure the club becomes profitable off the field and successful on it.

He also calmed fears that his busy schedule will work against him during his time in charge at the club because he says it will all come down to structures within the club.

An official announcement is due to be made on Friday by Manhyia.
