Kuffour in Roma Row

Two wins in a row weren?t enough to calm things down entirely at fiery AS Roma. Ghana defender Samuel Kuffour, who took less than two months to become a Roma fan idol, abandonded yesterday's training session in anger.

Kuffour?s fury was caused by a heavy argument he had on the pitch with Vincenzo Montella, that in turn was sparked by a tackle the former Bayern player made on the former Sampdoria striker.

Only a quick peace-makers style intervention by Antonio Cassano and Luciano Spalletti avoided a further deterioration of the situation.

Roma face Messina on the weekend, with both litigants expected to start the game.
