Kuffour hints at Bayern future

BAYERN MUNICH'S Ghanaian defender Sammy Kuffour has hinted his future remains with the newly-crowned European Champions.

Kuffour became only the fifth African player to pick up a European Cup winners medal following Bayern's dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Valencia in Milan last night.

And now the 24-year-old is ready to put an end to speculation linking him with a move to Italy by pledging his future to the German side.

SPEAKING AFTER the game, he said: "I know the pressures will be on me and my manager in the next few days as we discuss my future. I've got some really interesting offers, but I love it in Munich.

"I speak the language, I know the people and I am appreciated by Bayern's officials and fans."

Kuffour also revealed the cup win was the highest point of his career, adding: "I have been fighting for this medal for more than five years and I am happy that hard work and perseverance have paid off.

"But more than anything else I feel proud to win this as an African."
