The District Chief Executive (D.C.E) of Kpando in the Volta Region, Mr. Seth Asorwoe Akwensivie has so far spent an amount of ?400m towards the renovation of the Kpando Sports Stadium.

In an interview with “Times Sports” after Heart of Lions won their first Kinarpharma premier clash with B.A. United last Sunday, Mr. Asorwoe noted that the renovation included the re-grassing of the field, modern place of convenience, widening of the six gates to the stadium, erecting of two new goal posts, procurement of nets, inner perimeter and fencing.

“My administration will not hesitate to assist the Hearts of Lions in either kind or cash to make sure that the club stays in the premier division”.

The DCE said hooliganism will not be tolerated at the Kpando Stadium and enough security measures will also be put in place to make sure that visiting teams feel very comfortable.

Also at the stadium was the DCE for Kadjebi, Mr. Kofi Adjei Ntim who said his outfit will contribute to support the efforts of the Lions Administration.

“Glory for Kpando District is the glory for the Voltarians and Lions is the only team in the premier division and it is our duty to support a worthy cause, “Mr. Adjei Ntim explained.

Mr. Victor Ahiakpor the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hearts of Lions said he has spent an amount of ?120 million towards the inner perimeter with the support of the Kpando District Assembly.

He noted that Lions have come to stay in the Kinapharma premier division and the welfare of the visiting teams should be paramount to do away with hooliganism.

Earlier, the member of parliament for North Dayi, Hon. Akua Sena Dansua presented 100 plastic chairs costing ?5 million to support the Lions team.

“In due course, big teams will be coming to Kpando Sports Stadium and all the Stake Holders should join hands to contribute our quota to sustain the team to continue to perform creditably in the premier division,” the MP for North Dayi pointed out.
