Kotoko's greatness is about the supporters - Herbert Mensah

The former Chairman of Premier League champions Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah says the greatness of the club is founded on the supporters of the club.
Recently the club’s Executive Chairman Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong publicly made known his intentions to propose a dissolution and restructuring of the supporters’ wing, the ‘Circles’, but Mensah, who was Kotoko boss between 1999 and 2002, told Kumasi-based radio station FOX FM that the club’s huge profile does not depend on the chairman of the club.
‘The greatness of the club does not depend on the chairman; it is not about Herbert Mensah; it is not about the big men. It is all about the supporters.’
Mensah also told FOX FM that the club’s supporters have shown great commitment over the years, adding that their contribution is of massive importance.
‘If you know the love they give, the time they give; they go to training, they know the players; they live with them, feel for them and so they have knowledge you will never have.’
Mensah noted that becoming the chairman of Asante Kotoko is a privilege and not a right.
‘If you become the chairman of Asante Kotoko it is a privilege and not a right. This is because football is about the supporters.’
