Kotoko’s current crisis

…Godfred “TV3” Yeboah shows the way
Asante Kotoko’s current streak of defeats has stirred former player Godfred Yeboah
to appeal to the club’s teeming fans to keep their cool for a while.
He appealed to the fans of the “Red Army” on “Where are they?” with Charles Osei
Asibey on Happy FM to remain resolute and keep their cool in the face of their
recent troubles.
“I want to urge them to remain committed, they should continue to support the club
and should not give up. Things will work out with time,” he said passionately.
He pointed out that a similar crisis confronted the club during coach Herbert
Addo’s regime but tenacity of purpose on the part of the playing body and the
technical team catapulted them from the middle position on the league table to an
enviable second spot.

“A similar crisis befell the club during coach Herbert regime but he sat us down,
and told us in the face that the problem is surmountable, and when we the players
heeded his counsel, the situation changed with time,” he added.
The left back admonished the club’s management to be circumspect regarding player
transfer and recruitment since it takes players with tough characters to feature in
the “Red Army “ regularly.

Brimming with hope, Yeboah is of the believe that Kotoko’s current woes is not out
of hand completely, but proper planning and reflecting soberly on the way forward
particularly regarding player transfer will salvage the situation.
In his response to whether he has closed the chapter on his soccer career, the
former BA United defender noted that his absence from the local scene was due to a
journey he embarked on outside the country. He, however, said that he has returned
and putting pieces together to return to the pitch soonest.

A true ‘son’ of the Porcupine Warriors, Yeboah, former Black Stars player revealed
that one moment he would like to confined into the dustbin of history quickly was
the inaugural CAF Confederation Cup final between Ghana’s two glamorous clubs Heats
Vs Kotoko. The former won on penalties at the Baba Yara Stadium to lift the trophy
after a goalless drawn game in Accra in the first leg.
