Kotoko qualify for knockout semi finals

Kpando, May 19, GNA 96 Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Friday broke the jinx surrounding their matches with Kpando Heart of Lions at Kpando when came from a goal down to beat the home team 2-1 before its vociferous supporters.

Abraham Annan scored first for Heart of Lions in the 17th minute of the first half when he nodded home a corner kick curled into the 18 yard box by David Azumah.

Kotoko quickly reorganized and came back into the game and got the equalizer in the 32nd minute through Adu Amofah when he connected home from a telepathic lob of the ball from team mate Murtala Muhammed. The 91Porcupine Warriors=92 got the winner in the 64th minute to silence partisan home crowd.

In the dying minutes of the game, Osei Kwame Junior of Kotoko was sent off for deliberately wasting time.

Kotoko have thus qualified to enter the semi finals of the special Knockout competition where they are scheduled to face 91Giants of the West=92, Sekondi Hasaacas at the Sekondi Gyandu Park on Sunday, May 21. The match was abandoned on Thursday and rescheduled for Friday because of a heavy downpour.
