Kotoko outdoors seven-member communications team

Accra, Aug 5, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club has pieced together a seven-member board to steer the affairs of the team's Communications Limited, a subsidiary of the Club.

The team, which is headed by Chairman of the National Media Commission, (NMC) Kabral Blay Amihere is tasked with transforming the fortunes of the Club and to break away from the shackles of mediocrity, which, according to the Executive Chairman, Dr Kofi Koduah Sarpong has engulfed the "Porcupine Warriors".

Dr Sarpong said the board which remains autonomous is mandated to revamp the destiny of the ailing newspaper of the Club, 'Asante Kotoko Express', the official mouthpiece of the Club and to explore opportunities for the setting up of television and radio stations for the Club.

He tasked the board to run the outfit strictly on commercial lines and ensure that professionalism remained their watchword in the quest to reverse the deplorable state of the 'struggling' Kotoko Express.

The Executive Chairman expressed optimism that the Club will be the overall beneficiary of the "staples' that the Communication outfit will bear.

Mr Amihere described the membership of group that includes ace broadcaster, Kwaku Sakyi-Addo, Ebo Afful, Mercy Mensah, Kojo Addae Mensah, Alhaji Razak and Newman Fameyeh as a team of efficient personnel with proven abilities.

The former Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) President and Ambassador said he was pleased with the strength of the team, insisting they are motivated to lay a solid foundation to propel Asante Kotoko and Ghana football to greater heights.
