Kotoko forced to abandon Kyei's commercial aircraft for Cameroon trip

Asante Kotoko will not travel to Cameroon on the Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei's commercial aircraft due to their inability to secure the requisite clearance to fly outside Ghana.

The Porcupine Warriors were due to leave Ghana for Cameroon on Thursday with the Unity Air but the latest development has forced the side to alter their plans.

Chairman Dr. Kwamy Kyei late last year launched his Unity airline which is originally certified commercially fly within Ghana.

There were however attempts to get the aircraft cleared for international trips purposely for Kotoko to use as a charter for a round trip to Cameroon.

These attempts to have the 30-passenger aircraft cleared has however been turned down.

This means Kotoko must now make alternative arrangements to have their team airlifted to Cameroon for the first leg of the playoff tie against Cotton Sport.

Kotoko will play Coton Sport on Sunday, January 13, with the return leg at the Baba Yara Stadium a week later.
