Kotoko clash with Espanyol, Kano Pillars in Nigeria

Ghana Premier League champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been invited to a four-team tournament in Nigeria.

It is going to be a busy off-season for the Porcupine Warriors following a confirmation of another major friendly with south African side Mamelodi Sundowns in July.

Kotoko will be playing Nigerian giants Kano Pilars, Espanyol of Spain, and Ismaily of Egypt. The tourney will be a straight semi-final pairing between the four teams and winners of the respective games will meet in the finals, Goal Ghana understands.

The draw will be done somewhere in the first week of July. Goal Ghana can confirm that Asante Kotoko have received a letter to this effect and are ready to participate as part of selling the Asante Kotoko brand which transcends beyound the borders of Ghana.

Kotoko were crowned league champions last Sunday after beating Amidaus Professionals 0-1 at the Tema Stadium in Accra.
