Kotoko Play Tomorrow

Ghana's Asante Kotoko are in Egypt this weekend for what they hope will be a routine progression to last four of the African Cup Winners' Cup, despite last week's sacking of coach Ian Porterfield.

The Ghanaian club hammered Ghazl Al Mehalla 3-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final in Kumasi earlier this month and even the Egyptian side's coach made them clear favourites to go through after the return match at Mehalla tomorrow.

"Our mission is most difficult," Mokhtar Mokhtar said in an interview this week. "We have to concentrate on scoring to cut down the aggregate score and also making sure that we don't concede any goals at the same time, because if we let one in, it will be fatal."

Match kicks off at 5:30pm GMT i.e.1:30 pm (EST). Kotoko won the first game 3-0 in Kumasi.

Message from Herbert (In Egypt): According to the Kotoko Chairman, Herbert Mensah, NO ONE from the camp of the Egyptian club, Gazel El Mahala came to see or greet them. They're now putting up at HOTEL ARAFA in a town called TANTA. This town is about 45 minutes drive Mahalla.

It's also believed the German Coach Ernst Middndorp is with Kotoko in Egypt, as there was a message from him too. According to him, the boys are in good spirits and are focussed for tomorrows encounter.
