Kotoko/ FAR game grossed over half a billion cedis

Accra, March 14, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko grossed more than half a billion cedis (525,430,000) at the gates when they hosted Royal Armed Forces of Morocco in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on Sunday, March 6, at the Kumasi Sports Stadium. The team realised a net proceeds of 410,928,737, a financial statement on the match copied to the GNA Sports said.

A total expenditure of 106,503,263 was made which included value added tax, police and security personnel on duty and cost of tickets. Asante Kotoko share of the net proceeds was 397,9800,400 representing 95 per cent while the National Sports Council (NSC), custodians of the stadium took home 20,948,337 which represented five per cent.

In the other continental game between King Faisal and Ndimbour of Senegal, the Ghanaian team grossed 63,840,000 million cedis. Faisal realised a net of 44,616,667 of which the team had 42,319,329, which represented 95 per cent and the remaining five per cent going the NSC.
