Kotoko Concentrate On Strikers

Accra Mail (Accra) October 16, 2000 staff writers -Accra

Five players have been ear-marked for registration into the Kotoko team. The players are all strikers who are expected to revamp and address the short-comings of the Porcupine Warriors.

Banging in the goals have been the main problem of the Kotoko team and both the Kotoko Boss and Coach Middendorp have spent sleepless nights mapping out the way out of the goal famine. So far it looks as if their prayers have been answered with the acquisition of some five goal-getters.

Striker number one is Abedi Sarfo who won the day for the Porcupine Warriors in their titanic match against King Faisal.

Striker number two is Ofosu Appiah, a potential block-buster. Of course, Sulley Muntari and J. Gorman have also shown good promise.

The newly recruited players will be assessed in some friendlies to ensure that they acquire the spirit and character needed to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko intends to capture the commanding heights of Ghana and Continental football next football season.

These players surely are not the only ones Kotoko would rely on. Kotoko agents have started poaching and flirting with some noted players.
