Kotoko, Chelsea left frustrated

Berekum Chelsea were denied the chance of getting off and running in the Glo Premier League as the champions could only draw their opener.

Steve Pollack's star-studded side had to rally back late on to draw 1-1 with Mighty Jets at the Accra Sports Stadium in their opening fixture.

Substitute Frank Osei put Jets in the lead in the second half before captain Abdul Basit drew Chelsea level.

Asante Kotoko were also left frustrated at the Tema Park where they drew 1-1 with Tema Youth.

Striker Ahmed Toure put Kotoko in front after 18 minutes before the home side pulled level through a penalty converted by Hamza Abdulai.

AshantiGold drew 1-1 at the Len Clay Stadium against Ebusua Dwarfs.

The Miners were in the lead after 10 minutes when Musah Jafaru scored the opener but John Arthur equalised for the visitors.

New-boys, Wassaman were sent packing at the Kpando Park where the fell 1-0 to Heart of Lions courtesy Bright Nsiah's goal from a freekick in the 34th minute.

Emmanuel Baffoe scored the premiership's first hat-trick as Edubaise nicked all three points.

On Saturday, Mahatma Otoo scored to give Hearts of Oak a 1-0 victory over Berekum Arsenal.
