Kotoko Board Member Condemns Disruption

Mr. Frank Osei Owusu, a board member of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, has dissociated himself from the organisation and disruption of a press conference held by some concerned supporters of the club in Accra last week.

The said press conference, which was half way through, is said to have been sponsored by the named board member.

But Owusu said in reaction to a publication in an Accra daily that he was truly ashamed and dismayed at the incident, involving people who claim to work more to make Kotoko a winsome and formidable team.

He said with an undying and unyielding affection for Kotoko, he would not under any circumstance conduct himself in any manner which would embarrass or derail the glorious aspirations of Kotoko.

Owusu condemned what he described as a recently-acquired taste and thirst for violence, which is gradually engulfing the team.

According to him, any true supporter of the club would not resort to violence with the view to stifling legitimate criticism of the club, which was built on the tradition of consensus building.
