Kotoko Beat Bofoakwa

Kumasi, Sept 11, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Tano Bofoakwa 3-1 in their GT Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Bofoakwa were the first to score in the fifth minute through Yaw Antwi before Kotoko equalised in the 10th minute by Daniel Acquah with a beautiful header.

Acquah after scoring the goal later collided with Bofoakwa's keeper, Ransford Cudjoe and in the process got injured and was quickly replaced by Ofosu Appiah.

Kotoko from then on took absolute control of the game and mounted series of attacks on Bofoakwa and rightly went ahead to score the second goal in the 33rd minute through Aziz Ansah.

The home side went ahead to score their third goal in the 62nd minute through substitute Nasiru Ghani.

Bofoakwa fought desperately in an effort to redeem at least a goal but the Kotoko defence led by skipper Issah Ahmed repulsed all their attempts at goal to deny them any chance.

Tema Real Sportive notched a 2-1 victory over visiting Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord in their GT Premier League match at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Sportive opened the scores in the 35th minute when Sheriff Danladi of Feyenoord headed the ball into his own net through a free-kick taken by Sportive's Joel Adjei.

With Coach Sam Arday directing affairs from the touch line, Feyenoord resumed the second session with determination and earned a penalty in the 55th minute when a hard-pressed defender of Sportive handled the ball in the box but skipper Danladi failed to score from the resultant kick as his shot hit the side post.

Feyenoord continued to mount pressure on their opponents and scored the equalizer through substitute Abubakar Mahadi when his free-kick beat keeper Abdulai Sumaila of Sportive in the 70th minute. Sam Enzemaba however made victory certain for Sportive when his long range shot beat goalkeeper Philemon MacCarthy in the 80th minute. Adam Mohammed of Sportive won the Best Player award of the match.
