Konadu targets Guinea upset

Black Stars stand-in coach, Maxwell Konadu is upbeat about the chances of his charges against the Syli Nationale of Guinea in Morocco this weekend in the 2015 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Konadu, who took over from Kwesi Appiah on interim basis, has been tasked by the Ghana Football Association to win the double header against Guinea in Casablanca and the return leg in Tamale.

But Konadu, who has been training with the 23 players at the Wydad Athletic Club training centre in Casablanca, has admitted the Guineans will not come cheap.

“This is a game we have to win at all cost, but we have to keep it in mind that the Guineans won’t come cheap at all.”

“We cannot imagine an African Cup of Nations without Ghana, and that will be shocking to the rest of the world so we will do everything possible to keep going.”

“The Guineans are physical, they have strong men at all areas and that is what they will use against us. But the team has been studying them and we know how to play to suit our style and approach the game.”

“We have to take one game at a time and not to concentrate on the results of the other game because we still have some 4 matches to play in the qualifiers.”

“The Ghana team is in the right frame of mind and will be very difficult for them to beat us because of what I have seen in training since Tuesday.”
