Konadu: Grant will invite Helegbe if he's good enough

Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu says his boss Avram Grant will decide if in-form Lebanon-based midfielder Michael Helegbe merits a call-up.

Helegbe has hit a purple-patch of form after banging in 13 goals in 10 matches for Tripoli SC to lead the scorers chart.

The former Medeama SC has been tipped to earn an invitation from new coach Grant for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Konadu, who led the team to qualify for the tournament, says the former Ghana U23 coach will be given a look if he’s deemed good than the current select band of players.

“Avram Grant is now the head coach and has the mandate to invite any player therefore if he believes Helegbe is better than Mubarak Wakaso, Majeed Waris or any other player and calls him why not,” Konadu told Ark FM in Sunyani.
