Kojo Poku targets dream call up to the Black Stars

New York City attacking midfielder, Kojo Poku has revealed his dream of representing Ghana at the senior level.

The talented utility man is targeting a call up to cap an impressive season in the MLS that has seen him score 4 goals from midfield.

The 23-year former Georgia Revolution man admitted the gulf in class of Ghana’s attacking machinery but believes in his versatility will add to the team.

Speaking exclusively to Sportscrusader.com, Kojo Poku said, “I have continued to work very hard on daily basis to give myself a chance. I draw a lot of pride when I am representing Ghana in the MLS on weekly basis. It will be an incredible feeling to one day wear the national jersey or to play for Ghana. I play for my family and friends. It has always been my dream to represent Ghana at the senior level”

“Ghana has a number of attacking options but my versatility will play to my favour. I can play in many positions going forward even though I am a midfielder. The competitive nature of the MLS these days will also help make me a better player. The presences of the experienced players is making me a better footballer as well”, Poku told Sportscrusader.com.

The 23-year old Ghanaian has scored 4 goals from midfield in 19 outings for the NYFC. Poku left the shores of Ghana in 2010 to start a professional career with Georgia Revolution before joining the star studied NYFC at the beginning of the current campaign.
