Koffie banned in MLS

Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie has been slapped with a one-match ban for unsporting behaviour.
The 20-year-old was booked in additional time for endangering the safety of Seattle Sounders midfelder Andy Rose in Vancouver Whitecaps’ 2-0 defeat on Saturday.
The MLS however decided to impose the ban and fine the ex Ghana U-20 star an undisclosed amount after reviewing video footage of his challenge on Rose.
Koffie was fined an additional undisclosed amount for making an improper gesture after getting booked in that game.
He will therefore be unavailable for the Whitecaps’ trip to Portland Timbers on Sunday as his punishment takes immediate effect.
