Goalkeeper Richard Kingson, has expressed his deepest sorrow following the death of the country’s President Prof. Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, who passed away last Tuesday at the 37 Military Hospital in Ghana.
He has therefore expressed his deepest sorrow to fellow Ghanaians, wife Naadu Mills and family of the late President.
“I was in great shock when I received news of his passing from Ghana last Tuesday afternoon” he said.
“I wish to express my deepest condolence to the entire nation, his wife Mrs. Naadu Mills and family. I pray they stay strong in this time of grief and mourning” he added. According to Kingson, the late President Mills like previous leaders, was a dedicated statesman and man of integrity who will be missed by all who came into association with him.
He recounts how the late President made you felt important when around him. “I remember him telling us how important we are to the nation and that we should go out there and make our nation proud when he visited and joined the Black Stars in prayers ahead of our game against the USA at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, something that contributed to our qualification to the quarter-finals of the competition” he said.
“I pray the good Lord keep him safe till we meet again and his wife Mrs. Naadu Mills I say: For your Maker is your husband, the Lord Almighty is his name, the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, he is called the God of all the earth…Isaiah 54:5” he added.
