Danish-born Ghanaian Kevin Mensah struck the opening goal for Esbjerg who slipped to a 3-2 defeat against Brondby in the Danish Superliga on Monday night.

The 25-year-old raced Esbjerg into a 7th minute lead and his team-mate Mick van Buren cushioned the lead in 19 minutes but they surrendered their lead to lose 3-2 against the visitors.

Mensah was replaced in the 65th minute and Brondby took advantage of the absence of his pressure to equalise both goals and win the game.

He was born to Ghanaian father and a Danish mother. His brother Jeff Mensah plays for Viborg also in the Danish top-tier league.
