Keeper Kwakye commended for outstanding performance

Sunyani, March 15, GNA - Twenty-Two year old goalkeeper, Frank Kwakye of Nsoatreman Football Club was the toast of the club's supporters for his splendid performance that spurred on side to beat Bechem United 4-1 on penalties in the final match of the Brong Ahafo Second Division Middle League played at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.

The four-day competition featured eight qualifying teams in the zonal stage of the competition.

After the 90 minutes of a barren game, the winner had to be decided

through penalty kicks and goalkeeper Kwakye proved his mettle as he saved the first three kicks, letting in only the fourth one taken by John Twum, captain of Bechem United.

Substitute Effah Johnson, Bewu, Samuel Opoku and Ibrahim Mohammed scored for Nsoatreman F/C to become this year's Regional Second Division champions.

By the victory, Nsoatreman F/C who were runners up in last year's competition have thus qualified for promotion to the Regional First Division league.
