Kassenu Ghandy seals El Merreikh move

Sudanese giants, El Merreikh Sporting Club have on Tuesday afternoon added Ghana U-20 World Cup winning squad member Kassenu Ghandy to their ranks, Footy-Ghana.com has confirmed.

The 23-year old last played for Liberty Professionals in this season’s Glo Premier Premier League before joining the 18-time Sudanese champions for a short trial period. He exhibited an impressive output for the side when they faced Al Ahly in a friendly last Friday.

Kassenu, who is a natural left back, this season at Liberty Professionals showed how far his gamed has improved by excelling in the left side of attack as well as impressive performances as a defensive midfielder in the games he featured in.

Kassenu began his career with Liberty Professionals and was loaned out to Swedish club BK Häcken in 2008. He later joined Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol for the 2011/12 Divizia Na?ional? season. Last year, he returned to Sweden and featured in 9 games for Degerfors IF before returning to Ghana.

Details of Kassenu's contract with El Merreikh remain sketchy.
